Join us in celebrating three impressive leaders who have completed their service on Wellspring’s Board of Directors – Margaret Roohan, Giovanna D’Orazio, and John Pecora.

Margaret, who served as Board Chair for many years, led with extraordinary grace, humility, and care. She took the responsibility of leadership seriously—deeply learning not only Wellspring’s work, but the needs of our entire community. Margaret’s diplomatic, thoughtful leadership created space for warmth, understanding, trust and collaboration. Her generosity, hospitality, and steady presence shaped our board culture and guided our organization through important moments of growth. Margaret always made everyone feel welcomed, included, heard, and cared for. We miss her already!

Giovanna was a champion of Wellspring long before she formally joined our Board—and that passion showed in everything she did. She strengthened fundraising and governance efforts and was always lifting up Wellspring’s work—speaking about our mission with pride, encouraging others to get involved, and helping build meaningful support around the cause. Giovanna’s impeccable organization, unwavering reliability, and bold advocacy made her a powerful ally and an absolute joy to work alongside.

John served as Board Treasurer with remarkable care and integrity. He brought deep nonprofit and financial expertise to ensure Wellspring’s long-term stability and security, always approaching his role with thoughtfulness and precision. Beyond his expertise, John’s kindness, reliability, and seriousness about this work made him a trusted and invaluable leader. And he always did it all with a smile!

All three of these leaders showed up with authenticity, kindness, and a genuine commitment to Wellspring, our team, and the community we serve. We are profoundly grateful for their service—and honored to carry forward the legacy they leave behind.
